Mixing alcohol with certain medications can put you at risk of dangerous reactions. In some cases, it can even be harmful with one or two drinks.

In this video, I talk about 4 harmful combinations involving alcohol and specific type of medications:

  1. Alcohol + Antibiotics
  2. Alcohol + CNS depressants (medications affecting the brain)
    1. ex. opioids, benzodiazepines, antidepressants, antipsychotics, allergy medications (ex. Benadryl), sleeping medications, etc.
  3. Alcohol + Anti-inflammatories (ex. Advil and Naproxen)
  4. Alcohol + Acetaminophen (ex. Tylenol)
